Judy K. Potter Atherton passed away on August 18th, 2021 at her home while under hospice care. Judy was born on August 22, 1939 to Marion Pence and Carl Pence. She was raised in Templeton, PA where she lived most of her life before moving to Kittanning in later years. She also spent many winters in Chandler, Arizona. Judy said she had two wonderful husbands and following the death of her second husband, she proudly wore both of her wedding bands to honor their memories. Judy was married to Ernest Potter for 33 years until he passed in 1998. Later, Judy was married to Rayburn Atherton for 11 years until he passed in 2018. Judy was a homemaker and caregiver for many. She had special connections with various family members, regardless of lineage. For leisure, Judy enjoyed yard work and she loved to travel and see the world. She enjoyed trying new restaurants and visiting casinos. She was always ready for a road trip to see somewhere new. Other than her parents and husbands, Judy is preceded in death by her brother, Allan Pence and sister, Susie Reefer. Left to cherish her memory are Jolena VanMeter, & Randy Atherton along with their families. Friends and Family will be received on Monday, August 23rd from 11:00 am until time of Memorial Service at 12:00 noon at Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 South McKean Street, Kittanning PA 16201. Rev. Jessica McClure Archer will be presiding. In lieu of flowers, it was Judy's request that donations be made to the Cochran Cemetery Fund.
