Home Builder, Dies from Heart Ailment
Joseph L. Endres, 64, of 6 South Prospect Avenue, Madison home builder, died today in a hospital of a heart ailment. He had been in poor health for some time. A son of the late Mr and Mrs Frank Endres, Mr Endres was born 10 Oct 1881, in the Village of Dane but came to Madison with his parents and siblings in his teen years. He specialized in building of homes, especially on the west side. The Endres family is one of the best known in Dane County. Mr Endres was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic church. Survivors are his wife, the former Laura S. Buser, four sons, Gerald J., Rodney and Joseph R., Madison, and Leslie G., Seaman Second Class, U.S.N., on duty at Guam; one daughter, Mrs Lorna (Harold) Olson, Madison; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Minnie Doll, Milwaukee; and five brothers Frank E., Milwaukee, and Alphonse, William, Albert J. and Gregory, all of Madison. The body is at the Joyce Funeral Home.
