Mattie Woods Carr came to Texas in a covered wagon with her family. They came to Madison Country, where she met David Carr, they married in Walker County in 1891. They had numerous children, but the names of only four are known. Horace was the oldest, died in Arkansas at about the age of 16-19 and is buried there. Jabe, born in 1903, died in 1964, 8 years before his Mother. Alonzo N.(Uncle Lonnie) was born in 1909, and died in 1932, he is buried here beside his Mother & Father. A.L.(Cowboy) the youngest of David and Mattie's children, died on March 16, 1999, his Mother's Birth date.
