Sarah Isabel Brown, daughter of Thomas and Millie Attebery, was born Sept 25, 1856 at Dallas, Texas, and passed away at her home in Edgar Sept 21, 1931. Had she lived until Friday of this week she would have been 75 years of age.

On October 5, 1873, she was united in marriage to Aaron D. Brown at Long Grove, Illinois. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Effie Johnson of Edgar. They lived in Illinois and Iowa before coming to Nebraska in 1884. They settled on a farm near Edgar and had made their home on the farm until 1905 when they moved to their present home in Edgar.

Mrs. Brown united with the Baptist Church in Illinois when a young woman and has been a sincere Christian wife, mother and friend. Her interest in others and her loving ways, although she was a patient sufferer for many years, will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the local chapter of O. E. S.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, daughter and son-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Johnson, 5 grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mack near Clay Center, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson of Carleton, Wayne, Loren and Lois Johnson, who have been with her for the past four years, 5 great grandchildren, Valda, Gayle and Harlan Mack and Vilas and Leah Johnson and all were with her during her last hours, two brothers, H. T. Attebery of Spokane, Wash., and T. E. Attebery of Pleasant Hill, Mo. and other relatives and many old neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Christian Church at Edgar, Nebr., Tuesday afternoon, Sept 22, 1931 with Rev Hervey officiating.

Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery. The Eastern Star lodge had charge of the services at the grave.
