Homer was born in Terrell, Kaufman Co. Tx. he was the oldest of four children, His sister DeAlva, married Vessie Hardy sho died in 1948, and the she married Walter Moreland, sister Helen who married John Moreland (brother of Walters), and brother William married Mary Emma Huston. As a young man he left home & was in Kansas when he met Nettie Aikins and they married in Dec. 1917 brought her back to Texas and moved to Ennis around early 1920's where he went to work for Sothern Pacific Railroad. They had a daughter, Bettye Maye born in 1924 and another daughter Helen Frances in 1930. Homer & Nettie lived in Ennis for the rest of their lives. After his retirement they bought a small cabin on a lake in Arkansas, and spent time between there and their home in Ennis. They were both avid fishers.
