Second husband of Rena was Fred VanderPloeg , who is buried in an unmarked grave in Oak Hill Cemetery on the south side. Fred died a short time after he married Rena. On the marriage record that's dated June 4, 1913, she is listed as Irene Snyder (with indication of Smith as her maiden name.) In 1915 Rena married Harry Baker.
Following baby Jimmy going to live with Jacob & Lydia, Rena and Hazel left & became a mystery to the family, as no one knew where they went. September 2010, I was contacted by a great grandson of Rena, who located James Jacob Snyder's FAG memorial. Jimmy & his father James was an equal mystery to the great grandson's family, as to them, James & Jimmy "disappeared". Together we've been researching the lines and filling in the gaps. In an ironic twist, Rena & Hazel never lived more than a few blocks from where Jacob Snyder worked, at the Sleigh Furnature Company, on the S.W. side of downtown Grand Rapids.
