Son of William Barr and Rebecca Calhoun Barr (both born in Ireland, later met and married in Philadelphia in 1839). William Barr, Jr. married Martha R. W. Williams Barr and moved to Camden, New Jersey. Their two children were Agnes Barr and John W. Barr. Agnes married Ambrose R. Rossell.
