Ada May McKinney

Ada May Harmon McKinney, daughter of William and Mary Harmon, was born near Solo Mo., Nov. 10, 1874 and departed this life at her home in Houston Sept. 16, 1959, making her age at the time of her passing, 84 years, 10 months, and 16 days.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior. When she moved to Houston, she was baptized into the fellowship of the First Baptist Church and remained a member there until her death.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 36 years.

She was united in marriage to James T. McKinney on January 8, 1899. To this union there were born 6 sons and one daughter. They are Earl and Chester of Des Moines, Iowa; James and Claude of Cabool and Mrs. James Corbett of Houston. Two sons, Carl and Clyde, preceded her in death.

"She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. As long as her health permitted she was a faithful in attendance at her church."

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and a large number of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday in the Houston Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Breazile officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
