Born May 5, 1935, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of Macy Kegley of Mt. Gilead, Ohio and the late Sanders Johnson.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine Brumenshenkle, Jean Isom, and Elsie Peters; and four brothers, Paul Johnson, Harold Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Fred Johnson.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her loving husband of 49 years, Bill A. Bowling; two daughters, Patsy Bowling Wimmer and Freda Stilwell and husband, Kenneth all of North Tazewell; four sons, Bill Bowling Jr. and wife, Brenda (Ginger), Scott Bowling and wife, Stephanie all of North Tazewell, Ricky Bowling and wife, Sherry of Tazewell, Va., and Randy Bowling and wife, Cheryl of Pulaski, Va.; one sister, Judy Stewart of Mt. Gilead; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; special friends, Gladys Johnson of Richlands, Va. and Gay Hatfield of Tazewell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Revs. Barry Absher and Kenneth Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens on the Bluefield-Tazewell Road. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
