Raymond never married. He was kind of a restless soul, moving from place to place as evidenced by the postcards he sent home. He served two tours of duty in US Army, from May 24, 1924 to May 13, 1925 and again from November 24, 1942 to March 5, 1943. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Honorable Discharge Lapel Pin and the American Campaign Medal. He was cremated and his ashes inurned at Lincoln Memorial Park.
