Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Gruener, former Hastings resident who died Monday at Gregory, S.D., will be held in the South Dakota city Thursday afternoon and burial will be there, according to information received by her relatives here.

Mrs. Gruener, who was born April 16, 1888, in Braunachweig (sic), Germany, went to Gregory from Hastings in 1942.

She is survived by her sons, Henry of Phillips and Earl of the Gregory community; daughters, Mrs. Everette Hageman and Mrs. Alvin Peck of South Dakato; 15 grandchildren; her brothers, John and Henry Kothe of Hastings, and her sister (sic), Mrs. Conrad Pfeifer and Mrs. Will Uhrmacher of Hastings and Mrs. Carl Bunde of Kenesaw.

Mrs. Ed Gruener, Gregory, passed away Monday afternoon, October 31, of a heart attack. She was 66 years of age.
Funeral services have been planned for 2 p.m. this (Thursday) afternoon at the Lutheran church in Gregory. Rev. Walter Klipp will officiate and burial will be at the IOOF cemetery (sic).

Mrs. Gruener is survived by two sons and two daughters as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on December 16, 1954.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, November 3, for Mrs. Ed Gruener, who passed away on Monday, October 31, at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 15 days. Services were held at the Lutheran church with Rev. Walter Klipp officiating. Interment was in the IOOF cemetery (sic).

Pallbearers were John Raschke, Paul Voelzke, Allen Rajewich, Bill Schueneman, Fred Wiedmann and Ray Hageman.

Rebecca Kothe was born on April 16, 1888 to Mr. and Mrs. Carl (NOTE: father's name was Cord) Kothe at Baklum, Braunschweig, Germany. She came to Menedota (sic), Ill. with the family when she was two years old. In 1906 they moved to Adams county (sic), Nebr. near Hastings. In 1910 she was united in marirage (sic) to Ed J. Gruener in the Emmanuel Lutheran church (sic) near Hastings, Nebr. In 1942 the family moved to a farm near Gregory. Mrs. Gruener was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on December 16, 1954.

She is survived by two sons, Henry of Phillip (sic), Nebr. and Earl of Gregory; two daughters, Marie Hageman of Burke and Leona Peck, of Gregory and four sisters and 2 brothers of Hastings, Nebr.
