Mrs. Amanda Uhrmacher, 74, of 322 west C died Friday at the Mary Lanning Hospital. She was a native of Mendota, Ill., and resided on a farm southwest of Hastings before moving to the city in 1935.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church of which she was a member and burial will be in Emmanuel (sic) Lutheran churchyard cemetery. Dr. Theodore E. Johnson will officiate with the Butler-Volland Funeral Home in charge. Memorials may be sent to First St. Paul's Church.

Mrs. Uhrmacher is survived by her sons and daughters, Walter, Edward, Lawrence, Robert, Donald, Mrs. Frank Janssen and Mrs. Floyd Rol, all of Hastings, Raymond and Harold of Superior and Wilbert of Fairbury, 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren and her brother and sister, Henry Kothe of Hastings and Mrs. Carl Bundy (sic) of Kenesaw.

Amanda Uhrmacher was born on March 26, 1892 at Mendota, Illinois. Her God-fearing parents, Cord and Adeline Kothe, presented their infant daughter to the Lord in holy baptism in the Lutheran Church of Mendota. Amanda was confirmed in her Christian faith at Clarion, Illinois when she was a young woman.

In 1907 the Kothe family came to Nebraska and settled in Adams County. Amanda became a member of the Emmanuel (sic) Lutheran Church of Hastings, Nebraska.

The Uhrmachers farmed southwest of Hastings for many years. They moved to Hastings in 1936 and for 55 years Amanda had been a homemaker for her husband and children.
She was a member of the First St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hastings and was active member of this parish.

Mrs. Uhrmacher passed away on July 29, 1966 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings after a stroke and a lingering illness. At the time of her passing, she was 74 years, 3 months and 3 days of age.

She is survived by eight sons, Raymond and Harold of Superior, Nebraska; Wilbert of Fairbury, Nebraska; Edwin, Lawrence, Robert, and Donald all of Hastings; and Walter of Tecumseh, Nebraska; two daughters, Mrs. Verna Janssen and Mrs. Louise Rol of Hastings; twenty-two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Kothe of Hastings; one sister, Mrs. Carl Bunde of Kenesaw; and a host of near-relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William and one son, John.
