HARRY C. PLATT

Death came at 10:40 Saturday night to Harry C. Platt, 79, at the family home 1021 Cedar Street.
He had been in failing health two years.
A retired dairy farmer and cattle buyer, Mr. Platt was a lifelong resident of the Carthage area. He moved to the Cedar Street address a year ago. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and a steward at the lodge hall at the time of his death.
He was born Dec 6, 1880 in Carthage. On December 20, 1904 he was married to Hettie Parker. She died December 7, 1945 and on July 31, 1946 Mr. Platt was married to Mrs. Fannie M. Grimes in Columbus, Kansas.
Surviving him are his wife;
two sons;
Harry Lee Platt of Kansas City
Herman Platt of Arcadia, California
two step-children;
Mrs. Imogene L. Bowles of Kansas City
Charles Grimes of Grove, Oklahoma
(formerly of Carthage)
Mrs. Nell Bigley of Webb City
a sister;
Mrs. Nona Gleason of Carthage
a half-sister;
Mrs. Ria Pitzer of St. Louis

10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

A brother, Charles Platt, Carthage, died last September 10. A son, Glenn Platt also preceded Mr. Platt in death.

Services were held at the Ulmer Funeral Home
Rev. Forrest G. Bailey of the First Christian Church officiated.
