She was born June 29, 1901, near Havensville, the daughter of Edward and Mary May McClellan, and lived all her life in the Westmoreland Community.
She was married to John W. Zabel Oct. 9, 1918, at Westmoreland. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Anna Marie Taylor, Westmoreland, and Mrs. Alvina House, Littleton, Colo.; two sons Eldon Zabel, Wheaton, and Wayne Zabel, Onaga; two sisters, Mrs. Delia Reves, Westmoreland, and Mrs. Viola Fisher, Topeka; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery.Mrs. Zabel will lie in state until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Heart Association or Arthritis Foundation in care of Farmer State Bank, Westmoreland.
