Fairy King Outen, age 89, of Zoo Parkway, Asheboro died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Outen was a native of Randolph County, was former owner of Superior Dry Cleaners, and was a cosmetologist. She was a member of Russells Grove Baptist Church, where she was a former pianist. She was a member of the Business & Professional Womens Club.
She is survived by one daughter: Eleanor O. Grant of Nashville, NC; three sons: Rev. Daniel Outen of Hamptonville, NC, Robert D. Outen of Asheboro, NC, Phillip R. Outen of Asheboro, NC; one sister: Ollin K. Wilson of Asheboro, NC; one brother: Vern D. King of Asheville, NC; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 21, 2003 from 7 - 9 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Phillip Outen, 3328 U.S. Hwy 220 Business South, Asheboro. The funeral will be Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. Ron Hamilton and Rev. Avery Smith officiating. Burial will be in Russell's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro.
