Mrs. Mary Pardoe died Friday evening at her home on Ridge street after an extended illness from cancer. Although afflicted physically she was always cheerful, looking on the bright side of life. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and did much good in her humble way. She was the daughter of Daniel and Polly Peck, and was born in Union county October 7th, 1865. She was married to Albert Pardoe who died several years ago and is survived by the following children: Mrs. Hattie Hendershot of Pleasant Gap, Mrs. Emma Wetzell of Milton, Willard Pardoe of Tyrone, Mazie and Earnest, at home; also by the following brothers and sisters: Daniel Peck of Union county, Henry Peck of Huntingdon, and Samuel Peck whose address is unknown. The funeral took place from the Methodist church Monday morning, the pastor, Rev. Alexander Scott officiating.
