Mrs. Howard T. Burley, Sr.

BEDFORD - Viola Stinnett Burley, 76, of Rt. 4, Bedford, died Wednesday in Bedford County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Taliaferro Stinnett and Annie Laurie Wright Stinnett. She was the widow of Howard T. Burley, Sr.

She is survived by six sons, Pete Burley, Billy Burley and Howard T. Burley, Jr., all of Lynchburg, Jesse Burley of Bedford, Julian Burley of Moneta and Stanley Burley of Forest; five daughters, Mrs. Virginia Foutz of Goodview, Mrs. Helen Arrington of Big Island, Mrs. Edith Overstreet of Roanoke, Mrs. Anne Creasey of Bedford and Mrs. Shirley Byrd of Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Corrie Kalbach of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Corbitt of Amissville; one brother, Norman Stinnett of Bedford; 40 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Carder Funeral Chapel, with burial in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest.

Carder Funeral Home, Bedford is in charge of arrangements.
