Funeral services for Joel Martin, 56, of Route 2, Kite, were held at 3 p.m. Friday at Oaky Grove Baptist Church with Elder Woodrow Beasley and Elder Midas Brantley officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Shadowlawn Mortuary of Swainsboro in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin died Wednesday in a Swainsboro hospital after a short illness.
Pallbearers were Earl Shivey, Hines Martin, Jr., Eugene Holt, Stephen Martin, Jr., James Martin, and Rudolph Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Flanders Martin of Route 2, Kite; a son, Curtis Martin, Kite; two sisters, Mrs. Barney Holt of Augusta and Mrs. Brady Shivey of Bartow; and two brothers, Stephen Martin and Dan Martin, both of Bartow.
