Following her mother's death in 1900, Esther Dahlberg (aka Peterson) was raised in Sweden, returning to the United States at the age of 15. She graduated from The Girls Vocational High School in Minneapolis, MN, and worked in the culinary trade. Esther had two sons, Bruce Roland and Larry Dean Detmers. She was a hard worker, religious, church attending, very organized, loved to travel, and was tender-hearted. Esther loved poetry about love, friendship, and love of country. She lived through two world wars. She was very patriotic with much concerned about the solders in battle. She was a good and loving mother. Bruce R. Detmers
