ADA MAN DEAD AFTER COLLISION

An Ada man was killed early Monday when the car he was riding in skidded into the path of an oncoming car on snow- and ice- slickened 100th St. near U.S. 131.

Terry Lee Maxwell, 38 was a passenger in a car driven by Pedro Edgardo Crespo, 40 of Wyoming a Kent County Sherriff's deputy said. Crespo was driving westbound on 100th St. at 7:15 a.m. when he lost control of his car and spun into the eastbound lane, a deputy said.

Crespo's car was hit broadside in the passenger's side by a car driven by Robert Dever, 42 of Dorr, a deputy said.

Maxwell was pronounced dead on arrival at Butterworth Hospital a deputy said.

Terry Lee Maxwell, aged 38 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Midland, died Monday, January 9, 1989 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Grand Rapids. He was born January 18, 1950 in Midland where he attended schools. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and enjoyed the fine arts.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, George and Bonnie Maxwell of Hope, MI: and his mother and step-father, Ellen and John Brown of Sanford, MI; one brother, two sisters, two step-sisters: grandmother, Marion Farison of Gladwin; and two close friends, Pedro Crespo and Mike Mathews both of Grand Rapids.

Funeral Services will take place Friday, January 13 at 11 a.m. from the Ware-Smith-Woolever & Co. Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Rd., Midland, MI. Burial in New Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening until 9pm and Friday 9am until the time of the service.
