The funeral of Mr. James E. Alford who died on Saturday morning [June 21] took place from the residence of his son, Rev. S.M. Alford, 1106 Homewood avenue at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. W.G. Herbert of Caroline Street Methodist Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. W.T. Roberts and Rev. J.P. Wilson. A number of close friends of the deceased were present, among whom were Rev. J.M. Price, Rev Henry Nice and Rev. W____ Barnes, of the Methodist Episcopal Church….
The pallbearers were James H. Alford, Rev. S.M. Alford, William E. Alford, Frank T. Alford, Harry C. Alford and Rev. W.W. Dunbracco.
Interment was in Greenmount Cemetery. Undertaker Horace Burgee had charge of the funeral.
