Matthew Chase, the butcher, died last Saturday about 11 a.m., of congestion of the lungs. He had been sick about a week and very sick all that time. His age is 61.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church on Monday at 11 o'clock. He was buried in the Shrontz burying ground. It was a very rough day for a funeral.
