David Harold Grapes, 75, Knapp, passed away Thursday, October 30, at Glenhaven Nursing Home, Glenwood City.

He was born January 20, 1905, in Worthington, Minnesota, to Alva and Janet (Marshall) Grapes. He married Candace Burton March 2, 1928, at Knapp, where they resided until he became a resident at the Glenhaven Nursing Home in December, 1979. He was employed at the South St. Paul Union Stockyard until his retirement in 1965.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Tom (Glenny) Lande and Mrs. Dale (Naomi) Hammond, Knapp; Mrs. William (Jerane) Wolbert, Menomonie; and Mrs. Darreld (Margaret) Hastings, Spencer; a brother, Russell Grapes, Knapp; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 2, from the United Methodist Church, Knapp, with the Reverand Milton Ford officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery. Everts Funeral Home, Glenwood City, was in charge of arrangements.
