NORTH CAROLINA -- Funeral services for James E. Pippin, 85, of Charlotte, N.C., were held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 27, at Sharon Baptist Church, 6411 Sharon Rd., Charlotte.
Burial will be on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 11:00 am at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery in Boiling Springs, N.C.
James E. Pippin joined his heavenly father on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
He was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Jackson County to the late Sally and Willis Pippin.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will be missed by many.
James retired from Industrial Chemical Products of Detroit in 1990. He and Clara settled in Charlotte. Mr. Pippin served in the Army as a radio operator during World War II. He was also an avid golfer, bowler and Detroit Tigers fan.
His family includes his beloved wife of 47 years, Clara of the home; daughters Dawn Sauer of New Braunfels, Texas, Deb Ryan of Waterford, Mich., and Carol Robbins of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son and daughter-in-law Dale and Jennifer Baugham of Charlotte; grandchildren Colette, Jolene, CJ, Carrie, Christy and Mystina; 10 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 324 N McDowell St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
