COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Della Lee Pippin Vaughn, 79, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Friday, April 28, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vaughn died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in Vanderbilt Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Jackson County to the late Willie and Sallie Billingsley Pippin.

Mrs. Vaughn was a retired factory worker at Stillman Manufacturing.

Her family includes a daughter, Joyce Bates of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Clara Pippin of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Joe McHenry of Madison Heights, Mich.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Denise Bates and Anne and Dewayne Knight; six great-grandchildren, Matthew Randolph, Courtney and Brittany Knight and Austin, Alexis and Andrew Bates.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther (Red) Vaughn; a son-in-law, Marvin (Skip) Bates; seven brothers, Hack, Wilson, Harrison, Odell, Litton, John Andy and Ridley Mitchell Pippin; and three sisters, Minnie Pippin, Clennie West and Lora McHenry.

Pallbearers will be Eric Bates, Dewayne Knight, Williard Vaughn Jr., Alton West, Wayne Lewis and Donnie Loftis.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

Bro. Ronald Strong will officiate the services.
