He was born at Mont Alto, a son of Charles and Ara Minta Wilkinson Slaybaugh. He served with the U.S. Army in France during World War I. Prior to his retirement in 1958, he was last employed as a machinist at Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa. He was a member of V.F.W. and Veterans of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie E. Yake Slaybaugh of Hagerstown; daughters, Mrs. William Laudeman of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Mrs. Roy Bowers of Harrisburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; and a brother, William Slaybaugh of Mont Alto.
Services will be held aday at 2 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert Rhodes will officiate; burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
