Liller Roberts was the daughter of Joseph H. Roberts and Martha Jane (Slaton) Roberts. She married Robert Taylor Mitchell 17 Dec 1902 in Hempstead County, Arkansas. To this union was born eight children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mattie Fern Mitchell (about 1913-27 Mar 1917).

Cause of Liller's death was "swamp fever" (malaria possibly or typhoid) Her youngest child was less than two years old when she died. Her oldest daughter, Verta Mae, had to take on the responsibility of taking care of the home and was assisted in caring for the younger children by Viola.
