Following an illness of one week, Mrs. Sarah Ellen Johnson died in her home at Central and Keller avenues, Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, after having suffered a heart seizure. Mrs. Johnson had lived in this community for 25 years, coming here from Jasper County, Indiana. She was the widow of William Johnson, who died February 28, 1940. They were married in Tippecanoe County, Indiana in the year 1879. Born in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, November 15, 1860, deceased had reached the age of 89 years, 7 months and 27 days. Among the survivors are three sons--Jacob, Israel and Rolland, all of North Judson; two daughters--Mrs. Famie Curtis of Monticello and Mrs. Rosa Newland of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. Friends may pay their last respects at the McCormick Mortuary from Thursday evening at 7 o'clock until the funeral hour, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. A. Hornick will officiate. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery.
