Oliver V. Blackburn was born in White Cloud, Kansas and came to California as a youth. He married Fredericka Louise Bedford on October 08, 1908 in Los Angeles County. They had 3 children: Billee Oliver born August 22, 1911 and fraternal twins girls, Lois Caroline and Louise Laura born Oct. 07, 1913 born at the home of their maternal grandparents on 16th St. in Los Angeles, CA. Mr. Blackburn was a cartographer and reportedly was the first person to map Southern California. Some of his maps are at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California.
