Glenn G. Newell, 85, of Chillicothe died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2002, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. Born Nov. 4, 1916, in Chillicothe to John H. and Blanche Beaumont Newell, he married Hazel L. Ladd on July 28, 1940, in Chillicothe. She died July 7, 2001, in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are one daughter, Sharon (and Richard) Green of Peoria; one son, Gordon (and Ann) of Laura; two brothers, Harry of Chillicothe and Paul of Yates City; one sister, Mary Forbes of Williamsfield; and four grandchildren.
