John K. Allen, 67, of 705 E. Maywood, formerly of Chillicothe, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Born Nov. 26, 1929, in Chillicothe to Kenneth and Alice Montonye Allen, he married Lois Marie Lukehart on Sept. 18, 1948, in Peoria. She died on Dec. 17, 1987, in Peoria. One son, Steven M. Allen, also preceded him in death, along with one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Stone of Peoria; and two sisters, Gladys Mahle and Gena Swiger, both of Chillicothe.
He had owned and operated an autobody shop in Chillicothe for several years and had built and raced stock cars at Peoria Speedway and drag cars at the former Peoria Dragway.
Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
