Note that it is said that the marker shown in the photo is actually located in Section Q at Restland Cemetery . . . BUT . . . according to his death certificate, as well as the online burials records for the Oak Cliff Cemetery, he was actually buried at Oak Cliff . . . need to try to check the burial records at Restland . . . mayhaps this marker is actually a cenotaph???

Col. James Edgar McLemore, 57, well-known insurance man and speaker, died at his home, 303 South Rosemont street, Thursday afternoon of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, five sons, C. Jimmie, William C., James E. Jr., Sam and Dan McLemore, all of Dallas, and six daughters, Mrs. W.W. Hawkins of Fort Worth, Mrs. Jere L. Miller of Chicago, Miss Dorothy McLemore of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Wilmer A. Marshall of Fort Worth and Miss Ruth and Miss Florence McLemore of Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the residence. The Rev. Luther Reese of Paris will officiate. Washington Lodge No. 1117 of the Masonic Order will have charge of the services at the grave. Mr. McLemore had been a resident of Dallas for thirty years. Although retired for the last few months, he was active in the insurance business for twenty years. He was at one time division commercial agent of the Western Union Telegraph Company. He also gave a series of lectures on salesmanship under the auspices of the World's Salesmanship Congress. He was an honorary member of the Rotary, Salesmanship and Kiwanis Clubs. He was also a member of Washington Lodge No. 1117 of the Masonic order, a member of both the York Rite and Scottish Rite bodies and a member of Helja Temple Shrine. Mr. McLemore wrote numerous articles on salesmanship, including a book on The Fundamentals of Salesmanship. Dallas Morning News. October 14, 1927.
