Hazel Leota Sealock became a member of the Metropolitan Church Association in 1918. Hazel enjoyed reading the "Burning Bush" magazine and this is what inspired her to become a Missionary. Hazel made a Gift of her Piano to her sister, Emma Minnie (Sealock) Cain. Hazel got her Visa (Passport) and left for India in the year 1919.

In the early days Hazel suffered Malaria & Dysentery. The first 2 or 3 years Hazel was doing visitations with people out in the bush. Hazel learned to speak & write the "Telegu" language fluently. Later, Hazel would supervise the planting of gardens (Vegetables) & (Flowers).

Hazel eventually became Administrator for the Whipple Memorial Hospital. Hazel had many duties, some to include the Pulling of Teeth as well as Birthing Babies.

Interestingly enough, the Whipple Memorial Hospital had a Kerosene Refrigerator which was used to keep Medicines Safe & Fresh.

In a Village in Southern India, Hazel helped to organize and build a Metropolitan Church and she became its Preacher. This church was named after her - "Hazel Church".

Back in the States, Hazel helped organize and build another Metropolitan Church in Dunbar; Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

Hazel Leota Sealock served as a Missionary for the Metropolitan Church Association a total of 34 years. According to the 1940 Census, in 1935, Hazel lived in Siwait; Allahabad; India.

In 1970, Hazel had retired and moved to Lake Geneva, Walworth County, Wisconsin, where she lived in a former hotel. Hazel traveled, visited and (at times) stayed with many family members over the years. During these visits, Hazel would spend quite a bit of time sharing her knowledge of her family lineage. Hazel enjoyed sharing Genealogy with others. Hazel & her nephew, Ralph William Cain, had a great fondness for family heritage and the need to preserve it.

When Hazel took ill, she moved into the Lakeland Nursing Home in Elkhorn; Walworth County; Wisconsin. This is where she would spend her last days.

Hazel Leota Sealock's funeral was held at the Steinke Funeral Home in Lake Geneva; Walworth County; Wisconsin with the Reverend Warren Bitzer (of the Metropolitan Church Association) officiating.

Hazel's hobbies were: reading, gardening, crocheting & sewing/making clothes, Genealogy. Hazel never married and had no children. Her religion was Metropolitan Church.
