Bradley Ollis, age 93, of 726 Rock Creek Road, Erwin, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Ollis was a native of Mitchell County, North Carolina, and had lived most of his life in Unicoi County. He was a son of the late James and Margaret Miller Ollis. Mr. Ollis retired from the Clinchfield Railroad after thirty six years of service. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and served in the Invasion of Normandy.

Mr. Ollis attended the Erwin Church of God for many years with his family and was a big contributor to their yearly apple butter fund raiser where he was positioned as the burner man. He was a member of the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center.

Mr. Ollis loved his wife and family. He cherished the time he spent with all of them on their many trips around the country. Mr. Ollis had traveled and camped in all the contiguous United States.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret Ollis; and a son.

Survivors include: Wife of seventy years, Mary Ollis; Sons, Willard B. Ollis, Jerry D. Ollis and wife, Loraine, all of Erwin, Gary L. Ollis and wife Lucy, Johnson City; Daughter, Priscilla Harris and husband, Michael, Erwin; Brother, Howard Ollis, Erwin; Seven grandchildren, Aaron, Paul and Nicolas Ollis, Faith Correa Fregoso, Hope Fregoso, Adrianna Ollis and April Harris; Twelve great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Mr. Ollis will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Erwin Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop John Edwards, Reverend James Hughes and Youth Pastor Hope Fregoso will officiate. Special music will be provided. Pallbearers will be Nicolas Ollis, Mike Harris, Chencho and Toby Ortiz, Teddy Morton and Lolo Correa, Benito and Henry Fregoso.

Committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Military honors will be accorded by the Boone Dam VFW Post 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard. Family, ministers, pallbearers and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 A.M. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Mrs. Ollis may be visited at the Unicoi County Memorial Long Term Care Unit, Room 123A.
