Max Roundy
Max was born October 16, 1932, to Marion A. and Phebe June Humphries Roundy. He died March 22, 2000, peacefully of cancer at his home in American Fork, Utah.
He married Gloria Johnson June 1, 1956, in Provo, Utah.
Max was educated in Provo Utah Schools and after graduating from Provo High,
he entered the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. After returning home, he worked at Ironton before moving his family to Riverside, California. Max joined the Riverside Police Department where he distinguished himself as a uniformed officer and homicide detective. He was highly respect-ed and admired with his investigative ability. Max was known for solving complicated, complex investigations and was honored with "Policeman of the Year" in 1974. He retired in 1977, returning with his family to Utah. He made his home in American Fork. He then worked 10 years before his final retirement at Utah State Developmental Center.
Max enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife and family and a very large circle of close friends.
Max is survived by his wife, Gloria; and two sons, Steven (Kathy) Roundy of Salt Lake City; and Brad Roundy of Riverside, California; three sisters, Colleen Thatcher, Lenna (Bob) Mackey and Voneal (Paul) Kendall; two granddaughters, Aimee and Brieanne, Salt Lake City.
Max loved his family and took every opportunity to spoil his many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. They all loved and respected their Uncle Max. He especially loved his granddaughters, Aimee and Brieanne.
Max requested no funeral. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 25, 2000 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Graveside services will be held in the American Fork City Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with military rites conducted by VFW District #4.
