Salt Lake Tribune, November 9, 1997. Raymond James Cleverly passed away on November 6, 1997 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born July 1, 1916 in Deeth, Nevada to Fredrick James and Edith Burningham Cleverly. He married Jean Gundry on April 22, 1937 in Salt Lake City. Member of the LDS Church and a lifetime member of BPOE. He loved to travel in his motor home with family and friends and was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by wife, Jean; sons, Jim (Vickie), Rick (Judy); daughter, Joan Christensen, all of SLC; grandchildren, Curtis, Scott, Jay, Matt, Jamie, Michael, Christina and Anthony; sisters, Marie (Roland) Sahleen, St. George, Beth (Dick) Balderston, Bountiful, Frances Sharp and sister-in-law, Ruth Cleverly, both SLC.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Gay; brother, Robert and brother-in-law, Fred Sharp. Graveside services Monday, November 10, 1997 at 12 noon at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
