Born in Nelson County April 12, 1887, he had lived in the Binford community 56 years and recently had been making his home with his brother.
Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Carl Asmus of New Richmond, Wis., Mrs. Adelia Rix of Binford, Mrs. Anna Mowder of Bismarck, Mrs. Carrie Peterson of Longview, Wash., and another brother, Fred of Vitoria, B.C.
The Rev. Lloyd Englar officiated at the services. Six nephews were pallbearers.
