Deceased was born at LaCrosse, Wis., June 8, 1855. He was married at Grafton, Iowa, to Miss Agnes Rickford in 1878, to which union nine children were born. A son Ernest passed away June 9, 1897. Sixteen grandchildren also survive him. Mrs. Adrian preceded her husband in death passing away November 20, 1905.
Mr. and Mrs. Adrian came to North Dakota and settled at Casselton in 1879. At this time Mr. Adrian was employed by the Northern Pacific in building the branch line from Casselton to Cooperstown, which was then the end of the line. Later he homesteaded in Nelson County where they made their home until 1892 when he bought a farm north of Binford, near Red Willow Lake, now occupied by F. G. Lewis and family.,
The children are Alfred Adrian of North Battleford, Sask., Canada; Oscar Adrian, Mrs. Ros Asmus, William Adrian, Mrs. Adalia Rix, all of Binford; Mrs. Annie Mowder of Regan, N.D.; Paul Adrian, Binford and Mrs. Carrie Weltenhagen of Jamestown.
Funeral services were held from the Wesst Prairie church, on Wednesday after brief services were held at the home. Officiating pastor was A. H. Lange of Wimbledon. Six grandsons bore the casket to its last resting place near that of his wife in the West Prairie Cemetery. The pallbearers were Herman Asmus, Arnold, Elmer and Martin Adrian, Lawrence and Walter Rix.
