Mrs. Davis was born April 8, 1916, in Philbrook, Minn. In her youth she was always outdoors, loved animals, and considered herself to be a "tomboy." She married Wayne Davis in 1943 in Hinsdale, Ill.
She worked in hospitals in Hinsdale and later in Kentucky. The Davis family moved to Pendleton in 1951, and she worked for 11 years at Harris Pine Mills. She also was an avid and accomplished painter.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Barbara Davis of Pendleton; brother Duane Baird of Pendleton; and sister Phyllis Nelson of Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wayne Davis, in 2005; brothers Howard Baird and Claude Baird; and sisters Fern Bain and Doris Thomas Springer.
