He retired in 1985 from Universal Tool & Stamping in Butler, had worked for McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville and for Bowman & Albright in Waterloo.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Shirley; sons Charles Jr. of Auburn, Randall of Fremont and Jeffrey of Waterloo; a brother, Buddy of Butler; sisters Betty Custer of Garrett and Roma Baker of Waterloo; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dick.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with calling from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.
Memorials are to the Children First Center.
