Albert Niffen, 49, died suddenly at 7:56 p.m. Saturday at his home, 416 W. 3rd St., of a heart ailment.
Born Jan. 24, 1923, in Louisiana, Mo., the son of Aaron E. and Permelia Penrod Niffen, he had been a Muscatine resident the past four years.
Margaret White became his wife Sept. 10, 1949, in Missouri. He was a veteran of WW II. He was a cement mason for the Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steele Co. and had been employed on erection of the new bridge connecting Muscatine with the Illinois side of the Mississippi.
Survivors include his wife Margaret at home; two sons, Albert Niffen, Jr., Hannibal, Mo., and Charles Niffen, Florida; one step-son, LeRoy Darnell, Hannibal, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Kay) Cushman, Joliet, Ill.; three brothers, Lester, Elmer and Roy, all of Louisiana, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Sumrall, Ventura, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending at the Collier Funeral Home, Louisiana, Mo. Burial will be at the Riverside cemetery, Louisiana.
The Riley Funeral Home, Muscatine, had charge of local arrangements.
