She was born Dec. 11, 1912 in Eureka, Utah, a daughter of David and Martha Ellen Davies Laird. She was married to Orville Richins on Dec. 26, 1931 in Provo, Utah.
She lived in Jericho, Utah in the early part of her married life while her husband worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. They later moved to Provo where he worked for Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the organ, singing, quilting, crocheting, cooking and her favorite holiday was Christmas.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Paul) Paulson; daughter-in-law, Carolyn (David) Nielsen; five grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorthy (Dick) Snow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Richins; son, Arlis L. Richins; four brothers; and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery.
