Funeral services for Louise Dunavin, 85, of Yantis will be conducted at the Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, with the Rev. Tommy Hall and the Rev. Willie Sells officiating.

Interment will follow at Seymore Cemetery with Paul Starrett, Danny Wilson, Donnie Miller, Marvin Churney, David Gulley, Billy Burnett and Don McAfee serving as pallbearers. Scott Rushing and Vernon Ray will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Funeral Home.

Louise Dunavin passed away Monday afternoon, June 14, 2010, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Yantis on Nov. 27, 1924, the daughter of Elmer Burnett and Artie (Wyatt) Burnett. Mrs. Dunavin was a retired seamstress for H. D. Lee Company.

She married Merritt Dunavin. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Dunavin and Audie Dunavin, both of Yantis; three daughters-in-law, Barbara Dunavin of Mesquite, Gay Dunavin of Quitman and Judy Dunavin of Pickton; two brothers, James Burnett and wife, Betty, and William Burnett and wife, Louise, all of Yantis; one sister, Bonnie McAfee and husband, Larry, also of Yantis; six grandchildren, April Gammill, Casey Dunavin, Stacey Dunavin Smith, Brian Dunavin, Bruce Dunavin and Kiah Sue Dunavin; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Riley Dunavin and Stanley Dunavin; and one sister, Ruby Nell Newsome.
