Alfred L. Gibson, 80, passed away at his home, 1500 York Ave, Thursday night at 11:40 o'clock. Death followed an illness of but a few hours. Earlier in the day he suffered a stroke.
Mr. Gibson was born at Monmouth, Ill., Nov. 11, 1862. He came to Nebraska in the early days and followed his profession of barber for many years. He came to York in 1908, later moving to Stockham, Saronville and Henderson. About 1915 he returned to York and for many years operated a barber shop in North York.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Gibson; one daughter Mrs. Ruby Wilcock of Geneva; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Metz Mortuary chapel Sunday afternoon at three o'clock in charge of Rev. G. R. Miller of the First Christian church. Burial will be in Greenwood.
