Leander J. Penrod, 76, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at his home, 524 West Stadium avenue, West Lafayette. Born in Warren county, most of his life was spent in West Lafayette. His last employment was as a watchman at the boxboard plant. A graduate of Lafayette Business college, he was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and a member of the West Lafayette Methodist church and Druids lodge.
Surviving are three sisters and four brothers, Mary, Sarah and Wallace, at home, Gertrude and Walter, of Fort Wayne, S.A., of Chicago, and W. H., of Springfield, Ill. The body will be at the residence after 3 p.m. Tuesday, and services will be held there Wednesday at 2, the Hippensteel funeral home in charge.
