Harvey W. Ramer

Harvey W. Ramer, 93, of C.R. 13, formerly of New Paris, died at 10:40 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 14, 2010) in the home of his daughter, Lauretta.
He was born July 23, 1916, in Nappanee to Daniel and Ida (Weaver) Ramer. On June 4, 1939, he married Selina B. Martin. She died Nov. 12, 2005.
Mr. Ramer is survived by three daughters, Lauretta (Clarence) Hoover of Goshen, Judith (Elam) Martin of Viola, Wis., and Charlotte (Verlin) Martin of Bristol; one daughter-in-law, Berdine Ramer of New Paris; three sons, Ivan (Rachel) Ramer of Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, Keith (Teri) Ramer of Nappanee and Charles (Kathy) Ramer of New Paris; two sisters, Martha Kulp of New Paris and Grace Shaum of Goshen; 30 grandchildren; and 75 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Merle Ramer, March 6, 1992; one grandson, Jonathon Ramer; one sister, Mabel Bauman; and one brother, Floyd Ramer.
Mr. Ramer was a farmer and a member of Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. A family prayer service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church. The home ministry will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Frame Cemetery.
