According to the 1850 US Census for Owen County, Indiana, Jefferson Township, Mahala Conder, daughter of Joseph and Lydia Conder, had an older sister named Elizabeth, who married John R. Clark in 1869. John R. Clark is buried in Dutch Bethel Cemetery in Owen County (memorial ID 28666821). Mahala's sister Elizabeth's grave site has not been located as of 4-15-2019, but she was born in either 1840 or 1842 (according to 1850, 1860, & 1870 Census records) and died sometime between 1878 (when their last child, Joseph Conder Clark, memorial ID 125102932, was born) and 1889 (when John R. Clark remarried).
