He served his country in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean War. He was a manager for the Burger King Corporation in Texas prior to employment as a route manager for Schwan's Foods until retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Alton VFW Post 1308 and he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing tennis and most of all, playing with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife in South Roxana, he is survived by 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Chuck Bishop of Wood River; Scott (Susan) Bishop of Rosewood Heights; and Kelly Bishop of Colorado; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Rachel & Christopher Campbell of South Roxana; 7 grandchildren, Chuck Bishop II and Carrie Bishop of TX; Frank Gatto of Rosewood Heights; Sara Eakers of Bethalto; Taylor, Andrew & Kyle Campbell of South Roxana; 1 great-granddaughter, Carighan Bishop; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Dudley of Wentzville, MO and Judy (Orbie) Webb of Caddo Mills, TX; 1 brother & sister-in-law, William (Sharon) Bishop of St. Louis, MO; his mother-in-law, Clara Krilovich of Cottage Hills; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kenneth, Terry & Gary Bishop; a special niece, Kerri Ray, and a special nephew, Kevin Parton.
