John Lewis Dyer, went home to be with his heavenly Father Wednesday September 15th. He was the son of the late John Dyer and Ruby Hunnicutt Dyer. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Dan Jenkins, and Robert Dyer: sisters, Lucille Jenkins, Betty Benfield, and Virginia Metcalf.

He is survived by four brothers, Tommy Dyer, Thurman Dyer, and Kenneth Dyer all of Bryson City and William Dyer of Stanley, NC: Three sisters Jessie Cloer, Nell Frady and Ellen Seay all of Bryson City, his wife of 52 years Jessie Burns Dyer: two daughters Lillis Posey and husband Nathan Posey, and Connie Crisp and husband Lewis Crisp all of Bryson City, two grandsons, Joshua Crisp and wife Meredith Crisp, and Isaac Crisp and fiancée Brittany Hill: one granddaughter Jessica Posey and three great grandchildren Olivia, Harley, and Taylor. Lewis was an avid gardener and loved to do woodworking and help others. He was considered a jack of all Trades and a man of his word.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at True Gospel Baptist Church. Revs. Ernie Cable and Lloyd Brown will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9:00 PM Friday at Crisp Funeral Home were the body will remain until placed in the Church 30 Min. prior to the service.
