At the Forsyth Medical Center. He retired from the Bahnson Company in Winston-Salem with 34 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 638th Tank Destroyer Division and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a farmer and during his retirement spent much of his time in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera (Ladd) Perryman; his parents, Sidney Perryman & Ida Lou (Hill) Perryman; a brother, and four sisters.
Survivors include his son, Hoyle Gene Perryman; daughter-in-law, Linda McBride Perryman; daughter, Robin Lou Perryman; grandsons, Andrew Hoyle Perryman and his wife, Bettie Jane, & Russell Wayne Perryman and his wife, Nancy; granddaughter, Megan Daniell Bostick; great-grandson, Luke Taylor Perryman; two sisters, Ruby Ball and her husband, Wilbert, & Page Berrier, and a brother, Roy Perryman and his wife, Margaret.
Interment in the Church graveyard followed funeral services conducted Saturday, November 24, 2007; Revs. Harold Fletcher & Ken Harris presided. The Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
